Bill Palmer

Bill Palmer is President of Palmer & Associates, a firm that has assisted individuals and organizations become more effective since 1996. He has done that by helping clients develop clear goals and  implement straightforward plans.

In his down to earth way, Bill works with individuals, corporations, and non-profit organizations to clarify their objectives and develop focused strategies to achieve them. With twenty-five years of executive leadership experience, he has a record of getting results through proven methods of organization, employee involvement, and asset management. His clients have ranged in size from small family businesses to international corporations and are spread throughout the retail, manufacturing, service, and non-profit sectors.

Operations-minded, Bill's consulting practice has focused on working with clients in the areas of operations improvement, financial management, tracking systems and internal controls, leadership development, and strategic planning. Whether working one-on-one with owners and presidents or supporting front line operators on the shop floor, Bill is renowned for his ability to communicate concepts in an applicable way and facilitate their successful implementation.

These same communication skills have made Bill a sought after speaker, presenting regularly for business conferences and professional groups. For years he was among the highest rated presenters at the SBA's annual Small Business Conference and received top marks as an instructor at Whatcom Community College where he taught supervision and management courses. Bill also served as Adjunct Faculty at Regent College and has published a series of business articles in Business Pulse Magazine (now Northwest Business Monthly).

Prior to forming Palmer & Associates, Bill was CEO of Consumers Choice, an employee-owned retail grocery chain that included one of the highest volume supermarkets in the Pacific Northwest. While at the helm of Consumers Choice Bill steered the company through a ten-year period, during which employee owners saw their stock value grow by over 600% enroute to a successful merger with another regional chain. Bill earned an Economics degree from Columbia University and served as a US Navy Supply Officer where he proved his ability to manage logistics for large-scale operations.

In addition to serving his country in the armed forces Bill has always been active in his community, serving and leading numerous boards in the oversight of business and industry groups, educational institutions, job training programs, public health efforts, and his church. He was appointed by the Governor to the Washington Council on Vocation Education and has served on other national and regional boards during the past twenty years.

Married for thirty years, Bill and his wife, Mary Lynn, have two married children and four grandchildren.
